Love a lamb curry? Wish you could make it at home? To celebrate National Curry Week I am sharing 7 of my favourite easy peasy lamb curry recipes.
Hands up who loves a lamb curry? I am a big fan of curry and lamb curries in particular…there is just such an amazing affinity between lamb and typical curry flavours such as cumin, coriander, garam masala, chilli, turmeric…and as a result I have shared quite a few lamb curries on my blog over the last couple of years!
As regular readers will know…I have recently teamed up with the ‘LAMB. Tasty Easy Fun’ campaign to share my love of lamb and bring you lots of delicious and easy lamb recipes.
As this week is National Curry Week it seemed like the perfect opportunity to showcase my favourite lamb curries – all as easy, quick to prepare and hassle-free as you’d expect from me, so here are my 7 Easy Peasy Lamb Curry Recipes…
Slow Cooked Lamb Bhuna
Easy, warming and delicious, this Slow Cooked Lamb Bhuna is perfect for chilly autumn and winter days. Only 10 mins prep and then let your oven or slow cooker take the strain until you are ready to eat. Make double and freeze the rest and you’ll have an even easier meal for a busy day in the future!
Leftover Lamb Korma
Had a delicious joint of roast lamb and wondering what to do with the leftovers? How about a quick and easy curry? This Leftover Lamb Korma takes just 25 minutes – perfect for a quick and easy midweek meal. (And if you don’t have any leftover roast lamb, I have tips on how to ‘create’ some leftovers!!)
Easy Lamb Jalfrezi
A really easy version of a curry house favourite, this Easy Lamb Jalfrezi is bursting with flavour and only requires a few minutes of hands on time – the perfect fakeaway!
Curried Shepherd’s Pie with Sweet Potato Mash
OK, not strictly a curry, but very much inspired by Indian flavours, this Curried Shepherd’s Pie with Sweet Potato Mash Topping is a delicious twist on a family classic! Subtly flavoured with Indian spices and topped with nutritious sweet potato, this recipe takes shepherd’s pie to a whole new level – plus this version can be ready in under 40 minutes, making it a brilliant choice for busy weeknights.
Lamb Keema Biryani
A simple, quick and totally tasty lamb recipe, this Lamb Keema Biryani is a perfect midweek meal for when time is tight, but delicious enough for the weekend too.
Lamb Rogan Josh
My recipe for Lamb Rogan Josh is adapted from a recipe I found in Rick Stein’s India…I love Rick Stein’s India, because to make it Rick actually went to India and found out what they really make over there (as opposed to the anglicised versions we generally get over here). Consequently his recipes are really authentic, but sometimes a bit complicated and time consuming, and they often involve hard to get ingredients. So, I set about simplifying his recipe, using fewer ingredients, fewer processes and only things I could get in my local supermarket. The result is this delicious, but much easier to do…just a few minutes hands on time and then the oven does the rest!
Lamb Keema Chapati Bowls
My latest Indian inspired lamb recipe. These fun Lamb Keema Chapati Bowls are perfect for party nibbles or a dinner party starter, but easy enough to make on a busy weeknight too!

This is a collaborative post with the ‘LAMB. Tasty Easy Fun’ campaign. ‘LAMB. Tasty Easy Fun’ is an EU funded campaign which aims to increase the use of lamb in everyday cooking. Lamb is often considered difficult to cook, expensive, or something to be saved for Sunday roasts. The aim of the campaign is to demonstrate just how tasty, easy and fun lamb is to cook with every day of the week!

I can’t say “lamb” in my family without causing everyone to lunge for a jar of mint jelly. What IS that?! But I’m slowly bringing them around. “No, Mom, you wouldn’t put mint jelly on a CURRY. It’s got spices and lots of nice things that wouldn’t agree at all with mint jelly.”
I, on the other hand, ADORE lamb. I am all about that Rogan Josh recipe: I’ll be test driving that very, very soon! All of these ideas look so yummy—not to mention inventive!

Hahaha – maybe you could meet them half way and serve a lamb curry with a mint raita? I LOVE raita – you can find my recipe for raita over on the chapati bowls recipe. Seriously so good with curry, and contains mint so everyone is happy! Thanks for your lovely kind comments. Eb x

Oh wow Eb, that’s quite a collection! My husband would move in with you if he saw this 🙂 I think the first request he’d have would be Lamb Keema! Thanks for joining in with #FreeFromFridays.

Haha – better not show it to him then 😉 Wouldn’t want to be responsible for the consequences!! The lamb keema is super yummy – and I love how easy peasy it is to make on a busy weeknight! Eb x

We all love curry here so I know that they would all be a success here. I do tend to go for chicken though, I need to change this and try lamb! x
Eb Gargano says
Thanks Kirsty. Oh yes you have too – lamb curry is sooooo good and just as easy…just takes that bit longer. But if you get organised with your slow cooker or plan ahead it’s no more hands on time and the results are so worth it. And the two keema recipes can be cooked as fast as a chicken curry! Eb x
