Find out which were the 10 most popular recipes of 2017 on Easy Peasy Foodie! What was YOUR favourite recipe in 2017? And what would you most like me to make in 2018?
How did it get be the end of 2017 already? This year has absolutely flown by! As you know, I absolutely love blogging and creating new recipes for you guys and it makes me so happy when I see that a recipe of mine has proved really popular with you. I really pay attention to my stats to see which recipes are doing well and when I see trends, I try to create more recipes like that!
Although I watch my stats carefully and can get an idea day-to-day of what is proving most popular, it’s not until the end of the year that I can step back and look at the year as a whole and see exactly which were the most popular recipes. It’s always so much fun to see which recipes performed well over the whole year, as well as seeing which recipes totally bombed (Hellooo Easy Tomato Pasta, I’m talking to you!)
I would love to know if you have tried any of these recipes, and if you have, what did you think? I would also love to know what your personal favourite Easy Peasy Foodie recipe is – either one you have tried and loved, or one which you have seen and is top of your must make list! And, most of all, I’d really like to know what you would like me to make in 2018???
And don’t forget to come back tomorrow, when I’ll be sharing my 2017 Easy Peasy Foodie Roundup…an annual tradition on my blog, when I look back at my goals from last year and share with you my plans for next year! (Can’t wait? Check out my 2016 Easy Peasy Foodie Roundup here.)
The 10 Most Popular Recipes of 2017
10. Roast Chicken Leftovers Curry
Leftovers and curry were both big trends on Easy Peasy Foodie in 2017, so it’s no surprise that this that this Roast Chicken Leftovers recipe did so well. This curry is super flexible and a great way to use up leftover chicken, turkey, lamb or beef (or indeed any leftover meat you fancy!). Using sweet potato helps to add extra goodness and also bulks this curry out – great if you only have a small amount of leftovers.

9. Easy Christmas Vegetable Traybake
This Easy Christmas Vegetable Traybake recipe was hugely popular last Christmas and it has been even more popular this Christmas!! I love this recipe as it is just so easy peasy – pop all the key Christmas vegetables in one pan and leave to do its thing, rather than stressing over lots of pots and pans on the stove top, on Christmas morning! As a bonus, sprouts taste amazing roasted!

8. Easy One Pot Chicken and Chorizo Paella
This Easy One Pot Chicken and Chorizo Paella recipe has been a huge hit on Pinterest this year, with lots of people making it and reporting back on how much they have enjoyed it and how simple it was to make. It always makes me so happy when I hear my recipes are being made and enjoyed 🙂

7. Easy Chicken Rogan Josh
Definitely the surprise hit of 2017 – I thought doing a Chicken Rogan Josh recipe might be a bit ‘out there’ (after all Lamb Rogan Josh is more normal), but you guys have loved this – it’s nearly always in my top 10 recipes of each day! To go with this recipe, I also created Pilau Cauliflower Rice…a great way to make your curry a bit healthier (especially after the excesses of the Christmas period!)…but I also have a lovely easy recipe for normal pilau rice, if cauliflower rice is not your thing!

6. Leftover Lamb Ragu
Another super popular leftovers recipe. This one goes a bit bonkers every Sunday afternoon 😀 I adore lamb and have spent this year working as a Lambassador for the LAMB Tasty Easy Fun campaign, so I am super happy that one of my many lamb recipes has finally made it into my 10!

5. Mexican Roasted Sweet Potato Cubes
Another one that has gone a bit mad on Pinterest this year is my Mexican Roasted Sweet Potato Cubes. Not surprising really as they are super yummy and just so easy!! Plus anything Mexican always goes down very well with you guys 😀 I definitely need to make a few variations of these in 2018, don’t I? What flavour do you think I should make?

4. Leftover Roast Beef Chilli
And speaking of all things Mexican, well Tex-Mex really in this case, my fourth most popular recipe of 2017 is this delicious Leftover Roast Beef Chilli. Another one that always goes a bit crazy on a Sunday afternoon, this chilli is such a fab and easy thing to make with leftover roast beef…and if you don’t have any roast beef it can be made with steak instead – decadent I know, but very delicious!

3. Chicken Chilli Con Carne
So now we are into the top 3! And in third place is my easy peasy Chicken Chilli Con Carne…my chicken version of the traditional beef chilli con carne, this can be ready in just 30 minutes, perfect for busy weeknights, and uses chicken thigh fillets, so kind on the purse too…no wonder it is so popular. I am a huge fan of chilli con carne and it seems you guys are too, so expect more chilli con carne recipes in 2018!

2. Indian Spiced Cauliflower Rice
In at number 2 my Indian Spiced Cauliflower Rice. No surprises here! This has been super popular ever since I first created it over a year and a half ago. The surprise here is that it has finally been toppled from the top spot! If you are looking for a way of reducing carbs and calories in the new year, cauliflower rice is a great way to go – and I have since created several other cauliflower rice recipes, which you might enjoy too!

So then, drumroll please….the most popular recipe of 2017 on Easy Peasy Foodie is…
1. Easy No Mayo Coleslaw
Well, I could not have predicted, when I created this recipe for Easy No Mayo Coleslaw back in June, that it would have done so well! But I am super pleased that it has …it seems many of you agree with me that coleslaw dripping in (usually horrible, cheap) mayonnaise is not a nice thing, and you would far rather make your own healthier version with no mayonnaise at all! This recipe is not only a healthier take on coleslaw, but it is also suitable for dairy free, egg free and vegan diets too – making it a great choice for entertaining and pot luck parties!

Wow, well in summary, it seems that you guys still like quick and easy recipes (good thing that 😉 ), leftovers recipes, chicken recipes, Mexican recipes, curry and other food with bags of flavour (yey!) and you also seem to like pretty healthy food too…not a chocolate brownie in sight! So that is what I will continue to make for you in 2018, along with lots of other new and inventive (but always easy peasy) ideas! Do let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to see on Easy Peasy Foodie in 2018…
