Hi and welcome to Easy Peasy Foodie! My name is Eb Gargano and I am a 30 something mother of two (and wife of one) based in Sussex. I love nothing better than to spend my days tapping away at the computer or creating delicious, easy peasy recipes in my kitchen. In an attempt to combine these two activities, I started Easy Peasy Foodie in May 2015.
Who am I?
My name is Eb Gargano and I am the Owner, Editor, Writer, Stylist, Photographer, Marketing Manager, Social Media Guru, Designer, Blogger, Admin Assistant, Editor-in-Chief and General Dogsbody at Easy Peasy Foodie. In my spare time I am also a wife and a mother.
Before starting Easy Peasy Foodie, my career included wine buying, marketing, writing, teaching English as a foreign language and bringing up two small children. I love blogging because it draws on all the skills I have developed from my various different roles and has encouraged me to develop new ones, such as social media management and food photography.
I have been cooking for as long as I can remember (There are photographs of me making a Christmas cake with my Dad when I was 2), I have a monster collection of recipe books and an unhealthy addiction to buying foodie magazines. I have totally fallen in love with food blogging and my only regret is that I didn’t start sooner.
What is Easy Peasy Foodie all about?
Easy Peasy Foodie was born out of a desire to combine my two loves of writing and cooking. I love food but I am often frustrated by hard-to-follow recipes that require lots of equipment and complicated techniques. I don’t believe creating delicious tasting food has to be difficult! But neither do I think simple, quick and easy-to-make food has to be boring. I love experimenting!
In short, Easy Peasy Foodie is a place to find easy recipes, that are usually quick to make, don’t involve a lot of equipment or unusual ingredients and are not too expensive. I try my best to make them relatively healthy and family friendly too. I regularly share new recipes, reviews of recipe books and products, and tips on how to make cooking easier and less stressful.
I know what it is like to be a busy working parent who doesn’t get a lot of time to cook, but still wants her family to eat well. I cook from scratch most days, but I am constantly on the hunt for ways to make my life (and other people’s lives) easier. My favourite ways to tackle the problem are: traybakes, stews and casseroles, simple salads and one pot meals. Many of my meals can be made in 30 minutes or less (quicker than it takes to order takeaway) and others require only a few minutes prep and can then popped in the oven for a longer time and ignored, while you get on with something else (relaxing / taking care of the kids / working…), safe in the knowledge that you will have a delicious home cooked meal ready when you need it.
As chief washer-upper in my house, I also recognise the need for recipes that don’t generate loads of washing up, so I made sure my recipes use as few pots and pans as possible to ensure you aren’t chained to the sink all evening.
